Lindungi Pembela HAM

Tahun 2020 perlindungan terhadap pembela Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM) di Papua sangat memprihatinkan. Sepanjang tahun ini Yayasan Pusaka Bentala Rakyat melakukan pemantauan terhadap berbagai kasus serangan terhadap aktivis Pembela HAM, para aktivis, pengacara, jurnalis, tokoh masyarakat adat dan pemuka agama, yang terlibat melakukan aktivitas pemajuan HAM dan pembelaan lingkungan di Tanah Papua.

Vonis JRX : Hakim Terjebak didalam Penafsiran “Pasal Karet” UU ITE

Kami menilai bahwa vonis yang dijatuhkan hakim kepada Jerinx tersebut menjadi preseden buruk bagi kondisi penghormatan dan perlindungan Hak atas Kebebasan Berekspresi dan Berpendapat. Kasus ini sekaligus menambah rentetan panjang korban dari pasal karet UU ITE. Selama ini, korban UU ITE memiliki latar belakang yang terbilang cukup beragam, mulai dari buruh, aktivis/pegiat sosial, mahasiswa, dosen/akademisi dll.

Urgensi Pengesahan RUU Masyarakat Adat

Hari Internasional Masyarakat Adat Sedunia (HIMAS) diperingati setiap tahunnya pada tanggal 9 Agustus. Momen bersejarah bagi Masyarakat Adat ditandai dengan keberhasilan menyuarakan kepentingannya di forum Internasional pada tahun 1994. Pada gilirannya perjuangan Masyarakat Adat di dalam pertemuan global mendorong adanya Deklarasi PBB tentang Hak Masyarakat Adat (UNDRIP, United Nations Declarations on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples).

Communities worldwide are being pushed deeper into poverty, precarious existence and inequality – with the massive loss of paid and self employment and Livelihoods and further limiting of access to food, water and sanitation, adequate housing, education, health service and other basic needs.

Pernyataan Sikap: Dialog Nasional Menimbang Sawit, Mengembalikan Kejayaan Kelapa Rakyat

Dialog Nasional yang dilakukan oleh Sawit Watch bersama dengan Serikat Kelapa Indonesia (SKI) pada 2 April 2018 di Jakarta dengan menghadirkan Prof Dr. Ir. Nelso Pomalingo,M.Pd sebagai Ketua Assosiasi Kepala-Kepala Daerah Pendukung Kelapa (KOPEK) dan anggota KOPEK lainnya. Pada dialog tersebut dihasilkan petisi nasional yang meminta semua pihak untuk tidak menyebut sawit sebagai kelapa, atau tidak menggunakan kata kelapa didepan kata sawit. Adapun alasannya adalah menggunakan kata kelapa untuk sawit:

ARUM’s Advocacy on ADB Project- Integrated Citarum Water Resource Management Investment Project (ICWRMIP) – up date

People’s Alliance for Citarum (ARUM) is a network of Civil Society Organizations and Individual who concern upon the livelihood of Citarum River, so that this river could be used for the people’s welfare, as mandated on Indonesian Constitution article 33 (UUD 1945). ARUM has done monitoring to ICWRMIP since February 2008, and have contacted our National Planning Bureau, Ministry of Public Works, Office on Citarum River (BBWS), and also ADB management as efforts in gaining information related to the ICWRMIP planning of project implementation.

The eyes of the international and national levels are currently focused on the Citarum as the longest “dustbin” in the world and need of immediate action. Unfortunately, the government’s program to rehabilitate the Citarum watershed is still in an unclear orientation, even tends tmerely securing the water supply for Jakarta. ICWRMIP (Integrated Citarum Water Resources Management Investment Program) as one way to address these issues has been designed by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) since 2005. Subsequently in December 2008, the ADB Board of Directors approved funding scheme (read: debt) amounted to 500 million USD. The program is being divided into 4 tranches for the next 15 years through Multitranche Financing Facility (MFF). In 2009, the first tranche of the loan of Rp. 50 billion was disbursed.
